Fjällräven’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection reflects its connection with nature and commitment to eco-friendly materials in its expanded High Coast, Abisko Midsummer and Kånken series.
“Our founder, Åke Nordin, loved nothing more than spending time in nature. His profound respect for the outdoors was a guiding principle in early product development, and this has been carried on throughout Fjällräven’s history. For us, creating durable, functional and timeless outdoor equipment that inspires people to go outdoors and discover nature is at the core of our brand,” said Fjällräven’s Director of Brand Marketing, Kevin Stayart.
Its Spring/Summer 2021 collection introduces the High Coast Hydratic Jacket Series, Abisko Midsummer Zip Off Trousers and the Kånken Bottle Pocket.
- The High Coast Hydratic Jackets add to the brand’s range of weatherproof shells. The jackets are ventilated and packable with 2.5-layer construction using 100 percent recycled polyamide with a PU coating and PFC-free impregnation. Features include a two-way adjustable hood with reflective details, two-way front zipper, zippered hand pockets, a drawcord adjustment at the hem, and Velcro adjustments at the cuffs. The interior features a print designed by Swedish artist Erik Olovsson, who also created a landscape design in its 2019 Kånken Art Series.
- The Abisko Midsummer Zip Off Trousers are the latest introduction to its Abisko Midsummer series, for warm-weather trekking. The lightweight, packable and ventilated trousers are made with a hybrid construction of G-1000 Air Stretch— made from 65 percent recycled polyester and 35 percent organic cotton with pliant polyester stretch that is 70 percent recycled—and the zip-off feature for versatility and full range of motion.
- The Kånken Bottle Pocket expands the series with a side pocket that attaches to any Kånken for carry and personalization options. The pocket can hold a water bottle of up to one liter, rain jacket or accessories. Made from Vinylon, the material used in its Kånken includes a steel frame that slides into the side pocket. Elastic closure cord and drain hole with eyelet at the bottom complete the design.
