Longtime outdoor industry brands Mountainsmith, Ibex, KÜHL, Big Agnes and Darn Tough are set to host a two-tier affair benefiting The Conservation Alliance Public Lands Defense Fund. The collaboration will include a “SLC Thank You” party at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2017 and an online “Monumental Giveaway to Benefit Public Lands” contest.

In spirit of appreciation for Salt Lake City’s two decades of hospitality for Outdoor Retailer, the brands, along with local restaurant Caffé Molise and Epic Brewing, are hosting a “SLC Thank You” party on Day 2 of OR, Thursday, July 27 at 10 p.m. during Caffé Molise’s late-night happy hour. Only 150 tickets are available for the event and all ticket proceeds will go to The Conservation Alliance Public Lands Defense Fund.

Tickets are available for purchase online prior to ORSM ‘17 until Day 1 of the show here for $25. The remaining tickets will be available at the participating brands’ booths for $20. There will be gear raffles during the event where two winners will each walk away with $500 of valued prize packages.

“Salt Lake City has been our tradeshow home for the last 21 years and within our industry, we want to express our gratitude for hosting us all, but we are also looking towards the future and the importance of advocating for the issues happening within our growing outdoor community,” said Jay Getzel, president of Mountainsmith. “This event aims to thank Salt Lake City for the hospitality its community has shown every year to the outdoor industry, while simultaneously raising money and awareness for an organization fighting for a cause we believe in.”

In conjunction with the OR Summer Market event, the five brands are launching the Monumental Giveaway to Benefit Public Lands, a contest encouraging the greater outdoor community to donate to The Conservation Alliance Public Lands Defense Fund and help support organizations working to preserve and defend Public Lands, including past presidents’ National Monument designations.

“Coming together with like-minded brands naturally brings together like-minded people,” said Regan Betts, director of brand at Ibex. “Our goal is to be transparent with our consumers about what the industry is doing to advocate and not only encourage the involvement of the outdoor community, but inspire it.”

Beginning on July 13, donations of $20 or more enter contestants into the two-chance Monumental Giveaway, where one winner will be announced July 28 and another on August 11. Each winner will receive $500 worth of gear from the supporting brands.
