Hunting gear brand First Lite on Wednesday named company veteran Ross Copperman as its new president. Most recently serving as VP marketing and sales for the brand, Copperman assumes the leadership role from Founders Kenton Carruth and Scott Robinson as the company transitions under new ownership by MeatEater Inc.

Copperman has helped lead the brand’s growth in both revenue and company footprint in his seven years with the business. With experience within e-commerce, sales management, operations, and digital marketing, Copperman is ready to lead the next chapter in First Lite’s evolution. His tenure is effective immediately.

“We’re thrilled to have Ross step into the President’s role and look forward to executing our shared vision for what the First Lite brand can achieve,” said Kevin Sloan, MeatEater CEO. “Ross and the experienced leadership team we have in place will ensure that we meet our business goals, continue to strengthen our burgeoning community and build upon the company’s leadership position within the industry.”

Copperman has over two decades of direct experience in the outdoor industry having served in sales, marketing and e-commerce roles with Smith Sport Optics as well as with the Sun Valley Chamber of Commerce prior to his time at First Lite. He will lead the team from First Lite’s Ketchum, Idaho headquarters and report directly to MeatEater CEO Kevin Sloan.

“Since the brand’s inception in 2007, First Lite has been committed to delivering only the finest in technical apparel to hunters and I’m honored to carry that charge forward,” said Copperman. “With the team, ownership, partners and friends we have moving forward, we’re in a great position to continue to build upon the tradition here at First Lite and deliver on our overarching brand promise of innovation, performance and helping our customers get the best out of their time outdoors.”
