Globe Manufacturing Co. has purchased Falcon Performance Footwear. Falcon, which has been making boots in Maine for more than 50 years, has changed its name to Globe Footwear LLC.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Globe Manufacturing produces apparel and boots for firefighters and other emergency personnel. In 2006, Falcon Performance Footwear received a contract from Globe to begin manufacturing a newly designed boot for firefighters. That contract led to the acquisition.
“In just seven short years, Globe boots have become a huge success in the fire service industry because of the expertise and skills of our employees in Auburn, who we recognize as our greatest asset,” Rob Freese, senior vice president of marketing at Globe Manufacturing, said in a statement.
