EXEC: Yue Yuen’s Pou Sheng China Retail Unit Declines Again in March

Yue Yuen’s Pou Sheng China retail business and the YY Sports retail brand posted another down month in March 2025, but the decline did moderate month-over-month from a deep decline in February. Still, the decline over the last two months was a sharp contrast to a strong January.

Retail sales declined 8.2 percent in March after falling 38.3 percent year-over-year in February. Sales jumped 24.2 percent year-over-year in January 2025. Pou Sheng 2025 YTD sales were down 5.4 percent through March.

Pou Sheng parent Yue Yuen Industrial (Holdings) Limited, the footwear manufacturer for most major outdoor and athletic brands and owner of retail stores throughout China, reported its March 2025 net consolidated operating revenue dipped 0.7 percent to $657.7 million, following a 6.7 percent decline year-over-year in February 2025. January 2025 net consolidated operating revenue increased 9.3 percent to $804.9 million.

In March, Pou Sheng was again the negative player in the business, while Manufacturing increased for the month.

The company’s net consolidated accumulative operating revenue for the 2025 year-to-date (YTD) period through March rose 1.3 percent year-over-year to $2.03 billion.

Total net consolidated operating revenue generated in March 2025 by Yue Yuen Industrial (Holdings) Limited, including footwear manufacturing and retail stores throughout China, dipped 0.7 percent year-over-year to $657.7 million, following a 6.7 percent decline year-over-year in February 2025, primarily due to a weak Pou Sheng China Retail business. Manufacturing increased for the month.

January 2025 net consolidated operating revenue increased 9.3 percent to $804.9 million.

The company’s net consolidated accumulative operating revenue for the three-month 2025 year-to-date (YTD) period through March rose 1.3 percent year-over-year to $2.03 billion.
