Woom, the Vienna, Austria-based manufacturer of bikes for kids and teens, is reporting that it has achieved its strongest quarterly results to date. First quarter 2025 sales reportedly increased 40 percent year-over-year to €44 million. The company reportedly sold over 124,000 bikes during the period.
“This impressive result is largely down to ongoing innovation and successful product launches, with Woom having laid the foundations for another positive financial year ahead,” the company said in a media release.
The company said it has continued to invest in new products and product development, a strategy that is paying off.
“Over the past ten months, Woom has launched five new products, which have been recognized with prestigious design awards, the company reported. “The latest innovations include the Woom Explore bike models for kids and teens aged 6 and up; the Woom Go range of bikes for younger children, aged 18 months to 8 years; the Ready Kids’ Helmet; the Pop Kids’ Bike Basket; and the Woom Explor-e, the first all-round e-bike from Woom.”
Woom said it has entered a new era over the past two years despite the less-than-favorable market conditions. While the overall market continues to grapple with serious challenges, Woom said it is “bucking the trend and looks set for profitable growth in the coming years.”
“I’m delighted with how Woom has performed in the first quarter of 2025,” said CEO Bernd Hake. “The bike market may be volatile right now, but our results prove that we can keep growing through innovation and strategic market and channel diversification.
“It’s really exciting to see that our commitment to innovation, our eye for detail and our team’s hard work are contributing to this success. A 40 percent increase in sales despite the challenging market conditions tells us that we are giving our customers exactly what they need. We’re all set for the rest of 2025, and we’re optimistic that our profitable growth will continue. Our focus on innovation, quality and our customers is paying off,” continued Hake.
Kasper Rørsted, the former Adidas CEO who is chairman of the Board of Directors at Woom, said he is happy with the recent results. “The impressive figures from the first quarter validate our strategy and will consolidate our investors’ confidence in our projected growth,” offered Rørsted. “They make it very clear that Woom can continue to deliver excellent results even when the market conditions are challenging. With our strong brand, highly motivated team and clear innovation, driven plan behind us, we know there is huge potential to reinforce our position as the market leader in premium children’s bikes and give the whole market a boost.”
Woom reports continued strong growth across all regions. Even though the business established in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, growth in these countries is reportedly growing in double-digits, with bike sales up by 16 percent. However, progress is said to be even more dynamic elsewhere, with sales increasing by 50 percent in the Nordic countries, the UK and the Benelux region. Woom is also seeing further growth in the U.S.
“Boosted by the success of the first quarter of 2025 and a strong start to April with business booming for Easter, Woom is on track for further growth,” the company asserted. “The company will be expanding into a new market segment in autumn 2025 when it launches a product cleverly designed to give babies and toddlers aged 9 months and up a fun introduction to getting about on two wheels.”
