Woolrich CEO Stefano Saccone has been appointed president of Peak Performance, and a member of the Amer Sports Global Leadership Team, effective April 1, 2025. He will succeed the current president, Sara Molnar.
Peak Performance is housed within Amer Sports’ Technical Apparel segment, a place it occupies next to Amer’s Arc’teryx brand.
Saccone joins Peak Performance from Woolrich, where he has served as CEO since 2019. Prior to Woolrich, Saccone spent over seven years for VF Corporation in Europe, working with the Vans, Eastpak, and Napapijri brands. He also spent 3.5 years with Nike as GM of sportswear and action sports, working out of Italy. Saccone also spent four years at Ralph Lauren in Switzerland.
“Stefano brings a great mix of global brand leadership experience from the sportswear and apparel industry, along with omni-channel expertise,” Amer Sports said in a media release.
Saccone will be based in Stockholm, Sweden, and report to Stuart Haselden, CEO Arc’teryx and Technical Apparel segment. He is currently based out of Woolrich’s HQ in Bologna, Italy.
Sara Molnar, president of Peak Performance, has decided to pursue new endeavors outside the company. She continues to lead the brand and manage the transition process until March 31.
“Peak Performance is well positioned to embark on a growth journey, and Amer Sports is determined to drive the brand’s long-term profitable growth and dynamic culture. Stefano’s experience will be invaluable as we accelerate Peak Performance for long-term success in both its home markets and internationally. With Stefano’s leadership and experience, I am confident that Peak Performance can reach the next level,” offered Amer Sports CEO James Zheng.
“Further, I want to thank Sara for her valuable contributions to Peak Performance over the past nine years, in particular as a brand leader since 2018. Under Sara’s leadership, Peak Performance has transformed from a B2B-led to a direct-to-consumer-led business model, re-established its premium positioning, refined its brand expression, enabled the initial steps in the global expansion, and launched the brand in new markets outside of Europe. We extend our best wishes for Sara’s future success.”
