GiantMouse and Jens Ansø are reportedly heading in separate directions to grow their respective brands. Effective immediately, Jens will step back from GiantMouse to dedicate more time to Ansø of Denmark.

As one of the company founders, Jens has held a key role at GiantMouse since it began in 2015, collaborating with Jesper Voxnaes on design and helping to shape the company’s identity.

Giant Mouse reported in a media release that the company was “formed over drinks one evening during a U.S. knife show in 2015. Danish designers/knifemakers Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnaes (Vox) and their American entrepreneur friend Jim Wirth decided they could build a better mousetrap.”

The collaboration ended at the close of 2024.

“This is a natural evolution that allows both GiantMouse and Jens to focus entirely on growing our respective brands, and we’re all excited about what’s ahead,” said Wirth, CEO of GiantMouse Knives. “We’re grateful for everything Jens has brought to GiantMouse over the past nine years. As we move forward, Jesper and I are focused on shaping the future of GiantMouse, while Jens will be able to dedicate himself fully to Ansø of Denmark. We’re confident this step will allow both brands to expand in new ways and achieve the unique goals we each hold for our respective visions.”

To honor Jens’ contributions, all products co-designed by Vox and Ansø will continue to carry the credit “designed by Vox/Ansø” in the product description. The company said in a media statement that “this commitment is an important part of GiantMouse’s history, and it reflects the collaboration that helped bring the company to where it is today.”

“Co-founding GiantMouse with Jim and Jesper and collaborating with Jesper on knife designs has been an amazing experience,” said Ansø. “I’m very proud of what we’ve built together over the years. GiantMouse has become a brand that represents quality, innovation and a strong connection with its community, and I’m honored to have been part of its journey.”

Wirth added, “This isn’t goodbye—it’s simply the next step forward for all of us.”
