Multiple UK publications have reported a shakeup in the top leadership at the outdoor-focused segment of the JD Sports Fashion empire.
JD Outdoor is getting a new CEO this month, putting Dominic Jordan, the former CEO of Hobbycraft, in the top seat held by outgoing CEO Lee Bagnall for the past 12 years. Bagnall has agreed to stay on for a transition period.
JD Outdoor includes the Go Outdoors, Blacks and Millets retail brands.
Jordan was the CEO of Hobbycraft from 2017 to 2024 and the company’s retail and property director from 2012 to 2017.
Drapers said in its reporting that Jordan had overseen the opening of 36 new Hobbycraft stores, the launch of the Hobbycraft app and the sale of the business in August 2024 to Modella Capital.
Before Hobbycraft, Jordan was the retail operations director at Pets at Home for almost 12 years, “where he opened more than 200 stores during his tenure,” Drapers said.
