Seattle-based outdoor and action sports retailer Evo has announced it will partner with Bouldering Project to bring a world-class bouldering gym to its new Campus SLC, a collection of complementary businesses designed to drive community around a shared passion for outdoor culture in Salt Lake City.

“The Bouldering Project team could not be more fired up to join the Salt Lake community and build something together that is truly special. Salt Lake is a vibrant city and we’ve set a high bar for ourselves to create not only the best bouldering, but an inclusive and welcoming experience that focuses on community, relationships, and healthy and active lifestyle,” said Andy Wyatt, one of the Bouldering Project founders.

The gym will be 30,000 square feet, and will be accessible to climbers of all levels. It will include expansive and innovative bouldering, comprehensive fitness and training spaces, a beautiful yoga studio, spaces to plug in or unplug, and locker rooms to re-energize. With gyms in Seattle, Minneapolis, and Austin, Bouldering Project’s Salt Lake location with be its fourth.

“Our vision is to create a place for the community,” said Bryce Phillips, founder and CEO of evo. “Recreation spaces are a huge part of that, and we’re excited to bring our All Together Skatepark and the new bouldering gym to Salt Lake City.”

The gym will be located on Campus SLC in the Granary neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah, an up-and-coming district a few blocks south of downtown. The 100,000 square foot brick, timber and concrete block building will also include an Evo retail store, local retailer L9 Sports, hotel, restaurants, an art gallery, creative work space, and All Together Skatepark. The project has a targeted opening date of fall 2020, though plans are still being finalized.
