EVent Fabrics hired Shannon Walton as its new marketing and branding manager. Most recently, Walton was the executive director for The RedsideFoundation, which supports the outdoor guiding community.

Previously, Walton represented industry brands as a partner with The Walton Works agency and as a PR and marketing manager for Schoeller Textil, Inc., USA, for ten years.

“Shannon is joining eVent at a critical time when the performance fabric industry is pivoting away from ubiquitous PTFE fabrics,” said Chad Kelly, eVent Fabrics president. “Her unparalleled knowledge in this space will directly benefit eVent’s customers and the industry as we roll out innovative solutions that resolve the performance issues that have challenged the development of PFAS-free alternatives. Shannon’s work in product education, brand partnerships and her creative talents for gaining exposure will not only benefit eVent and our customers but will help transform the textiles market in this new age.”

Walton will work remotely from her headquarters on the Gulf Coast, reporting to Kelly, who works at eVent’s Kansas City U.S. headquarters.

In addition to her work in the North American and European markets, Walton will collaborate with eVent’s Asian headquarters and product development center in Shanghai.

“It’s a great time to join the event team,” Walton said. “eVent is the most nimble, approachable, and, now with most alpine, the best performing PFAS-free performance fabric manufacturer in the industry. Over the years, I have seen many suppliers strive to deliver the lasting performance of this remarkable laminate. I’m looking forward to building solid partnerships with like-minded brands to  deliver superior product offerings and help educate consumers about the  transition to improved sustainably produced materials.”
