Zumiez Inc. reported sales exceeded expectations in the fiscal fourth quarter ended Jan. 31 as comp store sales rebounded strongly amid strengthening demand in both the United States and Europe.

The action sports retailer reported net sales increased 14 percent to $258.6 million in the quarter, compared with the fourth quarter of 2014. North American sales rose 13.4 percent to $230.7 million, while sales at the European action sports retailer Blue Tomato increased 19.2 percent to $27.9 million. In a complete reversal from a year ago, ZUMZ said it now expects Blue Tomato to hit new store metrics spelled out in a 2012 earn-out agreement.
