Etonic Worldwide named industry veteran Dave Powers as director of sales for its running division. Powers’ experience in the performance running business comes from his 17-year tenure at Saucony where he held positions in sales management and product management.
As director of the brand’s Elite Running Group, Powers was charged with rejuvenating the brand’s market share levels within the running specialty channel. In this capacity, he helped build a sales organization that was focused on vastly improving service levels, product education, promotional activities and brand presence within the country’s top 100 specialty dealers. Under Powers’ leadership this initiative resulted in Saucony’s resurgence in the specialty channel.
Prior to joining Etonic, Powers was director of sales for Serotta Competition Bicycles, a high performance boutique brand that builds custom competition bikes for cycling enthusiasts worldwide.
“We are very proud and fortunate to have Dave join our team. He has a keen understanding of the specialty running business and solid relationships with the majority of its dealers,” said Tom Elwell, CEO, Etonic Worldwide. “His knowledge, expertise and brand building skills are a tremendous asset to Etonic and he will be instrumental in shaping our performance footwear business now and in the future.”
As director of sales, Powers will manage all aspects of Etonic’s field sales organization and brand development activities within the running specialty channel. He will work closely with the company’s running specialty retailers to build strong and profitable business partnerships.
“I am honored and thrilled to be joining the Etonic Running team,” said Powers. “Success in this business is not about gimmicks or fads. It’s about great products, exceptional service, and above all a sales force that is passionate, hungry, driven and competitive. Etonic has made significant strides over the last couple of years in running and I look forward to working with the team and our retail partners to advance the Etonic brand.”
