U.S. Army veteran Chris Estadt has joined the Leupold Tactical Optics Division as director of military business development.


Estadt works to establish Leupold Tactical Optics programs across all military service branches. He leads the process of identifying business opportunities and building relationships with the military acquisition community as well as end users, industry partners and government officials. Estadt drives proposal writing initiatives and plays a key role in product development, customer service and marketing as well.


“Chris brings a diverse background that is a strong combination of hands-on military and business experience,” said Kevin Trepa, vice president of tactical sales and marketing for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “In addition, he is extremely knowledgeable about firearms, optics and shooting. This experience and knowledge makes Chris an outstanding resource for our military warfighters and a mission-critical member of our team.”


A graduate of The Citadel military college in South Carolina, Estadt served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. While in the service, he graduated from Ranger School, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School and Air Assault School. Estadt also earned the Expert Infantryman's Badge.


Prior to joining Leupold & Stevens, Inc., Estadt was the director of the tactical division at Vortex Optics, where he helped build the military business from the ground up. He previously worked as a regional manager for First Choice Body Armor.


An avid outdoorsman, Estadt has also operated a hunting and fishing business. He is based near Columbus, OH.
