Epoch Lacrosse signed Jesse King, former captain and three-time All-American at The Ohio State University, Tewaaraton Trophy finalist and No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 National Lacrosse League draft by the Georgia Swarm.
King led all the major scoring categories for the Buckeyes in 2015 (77 points, 42 goals and 35 assists) and lit up the scoreboard for the Swarm in his rookie season (22 goals, 55 assists, 83 ground balls and nine turnovers in 17 games). He will play a vital role at Epoch in the development of future products and will be actively involved in the company’s marketing efforts.
“We are excited to have Jesse join our team and most importantly someone who shares our passion for lacrosse and the drive to be the best,” said James Miceli, principal and founder of Epoch Lacrosse. “Jesse’s drive and determination to recuperate from his injury is really motivating. We are confident Jesse will persevere and achieve greatness both on and off the field for Epoch.”
A native of Victoria, British Columbia, King’s 77 points were the most in Ohio State’s program since 1979, and he posted a career-high nine points in the NCAA Quarterfinals against the eventual champs, Denver University. Jesse left his mark in Columbus, ranked fourth all-time in Buckeye history with 208 points and 119 goals, and first in game-winning goals (seven). He was also a three-time USILA All-American and Tewaaraton Trophy finalist.
In the summer of 2016, King led the WLA’s Victoria Shamrocks to a Mann Cup title after posting a team-high 33 goals in the regular season in 16 games. He also played on Team Canada at the 2014 FIL World Championships (Field Lacrosse) that brought home the gold.
“I am excited and proud to be working with a company that is fearless in its approach to changing the game,” said Jesse King. “The amount of design, research, development and technology that goes into all of their products is amazing. I can’t wait to put it to good use.”
