ECCO has hired industry-veteran Ed DiStefano as technical field representative to use the company’s Tech Van overseeing education and outreach programs to green-grass and off-course retailers nationwide.

A Class A PGA Member with more than 20 years experience in high-profile positions throughout the Northeast, DiStefano will work closely with ECCO corporate staff and sales representatives to increase brand awareness and sales through various grassroots promotions, including demo days, clinics and in-store events. He will also help educate staff at key retailers, focusing on the features, advantages and benefits of ECCO’s high-grade materials, fit system and unique, direct-injection manufacturing process.

“As a PGA Professional, Ed brings great value to our brand,” says C.B. Tuite, General Sales Manager, ECCO USA Golf Division. “Having been an industry insider for so many years, he inherently knows how to relate to both our consumers and fellow golf professionals. Ed will work closely with our retail partners to help educate them on our unique features and benefits, and to enhance their overall enthusiasm for our product line through product training clinics.”

A former chapter president and recipient of the 1997 Professional of the Year award from the Southeastern Massachusetts PGA Section, DiStefano most recently worked as General Manager of Montague Golf Club in Randolph, VT. He also held senior positions at Crosswinds Golf Club (Plymouth, MA), Acushnet River Valley (Acushnet, MA) and Sunningdale Golf Club (Somersworth, NH).

“I’m really excited by the opportunity to oversee this program which allows me to use my skills and experience to help inform my fellow professionals,” says DiStefano. “For years ECCO has been the industry leader in comfort, style and performance, and I’m looking forward to meeting accounts and knowing I represent the best product.”
