Eastbay, an online athletic shoe, clothing and gear retailer, launched its new mobile application for iOS and Android.

The app includes the Eastbay Lens, which makes use of image recognition and augmented reality to allow users to scan physical pages of the Eastbay catalog and reveal videos, stories and products.

Eastbay will release the app in conjunction with its most recent catalog.

“We know our consumers rely heavily on their phones, both for shopping and staying connected,” said Bob Stephan, vice president for marketing at Eastbay. “We’re excited to reach them in a new and meaningful way by bringing the Eastbay experience full circle. In the process, we’re expanding the heritage of the Eastbay catalog and reaching a larger audience than ever before.”

The Eastbay App is available for Apple and Android devices.
