Earth Footwear said it will make an initial $5,000 contribution to
EarthShare, a federation of environmental and conservation nonprofit
organizations.

From the month of March through the end of May, consumers are being
asked to help grow this contribution by purchasing Earth Footwear and
registering their purchase at earthfootwear.com/earthshare.  For each
pair bought and registered, Earth, Inc. (parent company of Earth
Footwear) will contribute an additional $5 to EarthShare.  The program
will be promoted through viral/online outreach as well as through
in-store signage in all retail locations where the footwear is sold.

The partnership between the two organizations is one of many notable
steps from Earth Footwear as the company honors both the 40th
Anniversary of Earth Day and 40 years since the brand’s inception.
Most notable is the introduction of a new biodegradable sole – featured
in every Spring 2010 Earth style – that decomposes in the ground 10x
faster than ordinary shoes once disposed.  The breakthrough technology
is the latest in a long-line of eco-friendly product innovations that
also includes the early adoption of water-based adhesives, recycled
cushioning materials, and glue-free packaging.

The 2010 recognition of Earth Day also coincides with a notable
addition to Earth’s senior leadership team – Gary Champion as
President, Earth, Inc.  Champion’s addition aims to elevate the
company’s record of consistent sales growth over the past several
years, and effectively position the organization for the next 40 years
of its existence.

“Health and wellness is clearly at the forefront of many consumers
minds, and the 40th anniversary of Earth Day is only going to elevate
that awareness among a broader audience,” comments Champion.  “To honor
our heritage, and set up our future, were thrilled to be partnering
with an organization like EarthShare® to bring to market a meaningful
values program that not only celebrates what’s important to us, but
also what’s important to many of our most loyal customers.  It’s what
the good for you – good for the planet message is all about, and it’s
a great way for us to be living out our values as an organization.”
