DSW Inc. awarded the designated $75,000 grant to Autism Speaks. The grant stemmed from the off-pricer's Shoe Lovers Care Leave Your Mark program
DSW Autism Speaks has grown into the world's leading autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
DSW Shoe Lover associates nominated nearly 200 non-profit organizations that they are most passionate about, to have the opportunity to win a grant. Finalists were selected by DSW and then presented via social media for public voting. Voting wrapped up in late June 2013.
A check was presented on June 28, 2013 at the Autism Speaks headquarters in New York City. Mike MacDonald, President & CEO, Holly Ross, Human Resource and Philanthropic Manager and Kenneth Alumbaugh, Merchandise Manager were present from DSW Inc.
