Dick's Sporting Goods plans to open a new store location in Bluffton, SC, according to blufftontoday.com. The store will occupy 30,000-square-foot retail space in Bluffton's Target Center, and it will mark the first tenant in the location in more than two years.
The 216,562-square-foot retail complex was built by Stafford Properties Inc. of Atlanta and originally opened about 10 years ago. Pittsburgh-based Dick's SG has been expanding recently, as the nation's largest sporting goods retailer reported the opening of 19 stores in the third quarter in a Nov. 15 Dick’s news release on third quarter results. The company had 474 stores in 42 states as of Oct. 19.
The next nearest location is about 62 miles away by Citadel Mall in Charleston, SC, according to www.dickssportinggoods.com.
