Dick’s Sporting Goods, Inc. plans to open a House of Sport store in the Prudential Center at Boston’s Back Bay. Lord and Taylor previously occupied the storefront at 760 Boylston Street.
Boston Properties, Inc. reported last fall that it had signed a retail lease at the building, part of the Prudential shopping center, without naming the tenant following reports of advanced talks by the Boston Business Journal that Dick’s had taken the space.
Boston Properties securities filings show that the 118,000-square-foot building will be occupied in the second quarter of 2024.
Dick’s launched House Of Sport in 2022 and has three stores in Rochester, NY; Knoxville, TN; and Minnetonka, MN. Another store is scheduled to open at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City, TN in 2023.
House of Sport stores offer consumers an outdoor turf field and running track that converts to an ice-skating rink during the winterm indoor 35-foot rock climbing wall, a tech-enhanced batting cage, golf hitting bays, and a putting green.
