DeLorme has appointed Chris Preus as director of consumer sales, effective today. In his new position, Preus will be in charge of developing and managing all retail and consumer sales for DeLorme, which makes navigation devices.


He brings 28 years of experience in sales and marketing, working with companies such as Koss, Lite-On, Lucas Arts, Mintek, Qualcomm, Sony Entertainment, TomTom, and others.


Preus has represented products in a wide array of categories, including consumer electronics, appliances, computers, computer software, DVD movies, video games, musical instruments, furniture, and tools.


In addition, he has managed sales nationally for numerous companies in varied consumer electronics categories and has been the driving force in taking two companies public. Among his duties were the hiring, training, and managing of field sales force personnel to launch and maintain product sales.


Preus has also worked with various companies from China, India, Korea, and several additional source manufacturing countries. His annual dollar volume managed has exceeded $200 million.

A resident of Chanhassen, MN, Preus will work from Minnesota while staying in close touch with DeLorme headquarters in Maine and customers worldwide.
