The National Sporting Goods Association said the deadline to nominate candidates for the 2012 class of the Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame is quickly approaching – March 15, 2011. Nominees will be evaluated following the 2011 NSGA Management Conference & Team Dealer Summit by the nominating committee, and will be announced during the summer.

To join the other inductees in the Hall of Fame, a nominee must meet the following general criteria:

1. Be or have been in the sporting goods business at least 20 years
2. Have good community standing
3. Have made a significant contribution to the industry; local, state or national
4. Support the industry
5. Have conducted business professionally, honestly and with integrity

According to Bob Dickman, the Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame Committee Chairman, “Induction into the Sporting Goods Industry Hall of Fame is an honor that only 148 other men and women have experienced, and is one of the highlights of any sporting goods industry veteran's career. We are looking for the most qualified candidates who will exemplify what it means to be a leader – those who are supportive of the industry, professional, honest and have unquestionable integrity. We're sure we'll find them with the help of the sporting goods community.”

Those nominated for 2012 will join this year's inductees, Jim Baugh, Wilson Sporting Goods Co., Tom Raynor, Fleet Feet, Inc., and Ted Stahl, GROUPEStahl, who will be inducted on Tuesday, May 3 at the NSGA Management Conference & Team Dealer Summit in Tucson.
