DC Shoes, owned by Quiksilver Inc., reached a new milestone last week on the popular social networking website Facebook, surpassing one million people who “like” the brand and follow its updates.

DC said it is the first skate driven action sports apparel and footwear company to garner such a following on Facebook. DC is launching a Facebook promotion to celebrate the milestone.

“We're excited to have grown our Facebook community to this size,” said DC's President, Anton Nistl. “Facebook is one of the best ways to connect with consumers. The page includes content from DC's athletes in six sports, which includes skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, motocross, BMX, and rally. DC;s Facebook page is updated daily with all the latest news, photos and videos on DC's athletes, such as the recent launch of the Gymkhana THREE Project, and behind the scenes coverage from the DC Pro Tour Fueled by Monster Energy, Street League Skateboarding series.
