Darn Tough Vermont has become the latest member of The Conservation Alliance, which works directly with outdoor industry companies to fund conservation organizations working to protect North America’s last wild spaces.

As a member, Darn Tough Vermont joins six other Vermont companies and over 180 member companies in North America.

“Darn Tough Vermont embodies many of the same values we do around the active, conscious consumer,” said John Sterling, Conservation Alliance executive director. “We look forward to working with them to support key conservation initiatives in the industry and to demonstrate the true meaning of conserving resources while still supporting a healthy economy.”

“Nature and the outdoor lifestyle are ubiquitous aspects of life in Vermont, which is a constant reminder of the importance of conserving our natural spaces to ensure they remain unexploited for future generations,” said Ric Cabot, founder and president of Darn Tough Vermont. “We have always approached our business from a sustainability standpoint, both in terms of the environment and sustaining reliable jobs for over 150 Vermonters. As a member of The Conservation Alliance, we’re excited to join the long list of respected industry partners to help support the Alliance’s initiatives.”

Based in Northfield, Darn Tough Vermont knits all of their socks at the family hosiery mill where the Cabot family has been making socks for over 30 years.
