Dansko Co-Founder, President and CEO, Mandy Cabot, was named the 2013 recipient of the T. Kenyon Holly Memorial Award for outstanding humanitarian achievement. Presented by the Two Ten Foundation, the award is bestowed upon an individual in the footwear industry who exemplifies the philanthropic spirit and character of the late T. Kenyon Holly, past president of Two Ten. “Mandy (is) the epitome of what Two Ten is about… an unconditional commitment to caring,” says Jim Salzano, Two Ten Board Chair.

Mandy Cabot's personal and professional humanitarian achievements over the last twenty years make her a clear choice for this Award. As CEO of Dansko, Mandy leads the way in environmental responsibility and is aggressively committed to sustainable living; an ideal that is shared by all Dansko employees. “Each one of us is responsible for the reduction of our impact of the environment. I am confident that social consciousness does not have to come at the cost of good business.” said Mandy. “We are all committed to the betterment of the human condition.”

“Mandy has been doing some remarkable things with [husband and Dansko co-founder] Peter Kjellerup,” said Two Ten President Neal Newman. “Her work in sustainability and business leadership in [her community] is done out of tremendous passion and dedication. It would be hard to find a person who better embodies generosity and humanity.”

It is Mandy’s spirit and enthusiasm that has inspired Dansko employees to embrace philanthropy as a shared value. Employees are given 20 volunteer hours a year to use with a charitable organization of their choice, together with a matching cash donation for hours worked. The Dansko Foundation was established in 2003 to inspire, support and facilitate charitable giving to not-for-profit community based groups and local chapters of national organizations. The Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 to over 80 groups.

Doing what’s right has been a Dansko core value since the company’s founding in 1990. “Mandy inspires people by the way she leads and in her interactions. Some people talk a good game and then they won’t act upon it. She talks it and she does it… and that’s something you can respect,” said Marco Ibarra, Assistant Warehouse Manager at Dansko.

The award will be presented at the Two Ten Annual Dinner on Wednesday December 4th at the Marriott Marquis in New York, NY.
