Mountain High Knitwear has acquired the sock and slipper license for Cuddl Duds, a warm underwear brand that is eager to cover more of the body. The Cuddl Duds women’s sock collection will launch for Fall ’09, and will feature eco-friendly and technically advanced fabrications.

Cuddl Duds’ newest innovation is “Ecosoft,” a family of products created from sustainable resources. Elements of the Cuddl Duds Ecosoft collection will be incorporated into the launch of socks. In addition, the brand’s ‘feel good’ tagline will be displayed on all sock and slipper packaging. The 30-year-old brand uses high-tech and eco-friendly fabrics to create thermal underwear, camisoles and daywear.

For Cuddl Duds, providing a “head to toe comfort experience is of primary importance” according to Colleen Cotter, Vice President of Product Development.

Cuddl Duds is carried at JC Penney’s, Bon Ton, Macy’s, Belk, and Gottschalks, among others. Branching into socks and slippers was a logical brand extension for the company, according Mark Sandler, SVP of Sales and Marketing.

Mountain High Knitwear is one of the largest domestic suppliers of private label hosiery. The company creates socks under the following licensees: Tommy Hilfiger, Sean John, PONY, Esprit, and Bill Blass, among others.  The company also markets products under other proprietary labels including Mountain High, MH Knitwear, Royal Bermuda, Uomo Domani and Royal.
