Crossover Culture released the Fortune and Fatale, two new basketball sneakers using its proprietary Ghost Foam technology.

Inspiration for Fortune‘s name “is found in the spirit of the fearless players, who have the guts to shoot the game-winner and do not accept what they are told but make their own ‘Fortune,'” the foot sits deep into the midsole structure which provides “high-speed stability and multi-direction support, for a shifty style of play.”

Foregoing a traditional rubber “outrigger,” the deep-seated fit and sculpted midsole shaping “wrap the foot for lateral stability continuously from the heel through the forefoot.” Distorted herringbone outsole combines a traction pattern with a more durable configuration—”sticky traction indoors while being durable enough for outdoor use.”

Ghost Foam is manufactured with a “specialized supercritical fluid foaming process, producing a high-performance foam with reduced material weight and increased energy return. The result is an extra bouncy, highly responsive feel in a very lightweight package.”

The Fatale, worn by Taurean Prince of the LA Lakers in pre-release colorways during play this season, is low cut and takes its name “from the French word for lethal—and in the modern game of basketball, speed kills.”

The Fatale features a traction pattern “inspired by the shape of amoebas, with a series of strategically placed organic shapes that provide sticky grip in all directions while reducing material weight.” The outsole wraps “strategically at the lateral forefoot flex area for added stability.” The uppers are made with “a unique 3D heat molded mesh, providing a snug protective fit while enabling maximum mobility.” An elevated, molded heel counter and a dual medial/lateral strap system “provide an extra level of lockdown fit.” The midsole cushioning features Crossover Culture’s Twitch Foam, “a high rebound foam that absorbs impact and returns more energy than traditional EVA foams.”

The Fortune and Fatale come in three colorways—Atmosphere, Deep Space, and Psychonaut—part of an “Unconscious Game” theme, which are a nod to the levels a player might pass through as they elevate their game from the terrestrial level to an unconscious level.”

Both styles are available in men’s, women’s and kid’s sizing and are available at select Dick’s Sporting Goods and Dicks.com. Crossover Culture’s lineup of NIL players includes Rob Dillingham, Jacy Sheldon, Trey Parker, Boogie Fland, and Jordan Burks.
