Cotopaxi, a Benefit Corporation and outdoor gear brand, expanded its Questival 24-hour adventure race series to 50 events, including the addition of three Canadian stops, in 2017.

From two events in the brand’s inaugural year of 2104, Cotopaxi has augmented the Questival offerings in response to positive feedback and experiences of participants, and as an added effort to drive community engagement and social awareness.

As a venture-backed Benefit Corporation, Cotopaxi focuses on social impact and encouraging adventure and sustainable outdoors experiences. Poverty alleviation and targeted grants are at the forefront of its resource allocation, and Cotopaxi aims to advance health, education and livelihoods initiatives around the world.

At each Questival event a challenge list of 300-plus experiences is designated to teams, made up of two to six participants, that are tasked with creatively completing as many challenges as possible in 24 hours. Whether performing yoga poses or volunteering in soup kitchens, eating a taco with no hands or climbing a 5.10 route, each team navigates their own adventure.

Many challenges are location-specific, such as a team bike ride around Mission Bay in San Diego or taking a team photo at the Enchanted Forest at Maggie Daley Park in Chicago.

Each participant receives a Cotopaxi Luzon pack, a team totem, swag items and samples from event sponsors. A kick-off party at each location will include music, food, giveaways and community-driven experiences. Prizes for winning teams at each location may include travel vouchers, Cotopaxi gear, outdoor equipment, and additional prizes from sponsors.

The 50 stops on the 2017 Questival Tour include:

  • Austin, February 17-18
  • Atlanta, February 24-25
  • Tucson, March 3-4
  • Las Vegas, March 10-11
  • Denver, May 12-13
