Costco Wholesale Corporation reported net sales of $6.30 billion for the  the four weeks ended Oct. 31, an increase of 11% from $5.69 billion during the similar four-week period last year.


This year's results included sales from the Company's Mexico joint venture, as the company began consolidating its Mexico operations on a prospective basis beginning with its 2011 fiscal year on Aug. 30, 2010; without those sales the increase would have been 8%.

For the first nine weeks of its reporting period ended Oct. 31, the company reported net sales of $13.81 billion, an increase of 10% from $12.53 billion during the similar period last year; excluding Mexico sales the increase would have been 7%.


Comparable sales for the four-week and nine-week periods ended Oct. 31, 2010, including Mexico operations for both last year and this year, were as follows:

Inflation in gasoline prices and strengthening foreign currencies had a positive impact on comparable sales. Excluding these effects, comparable sales for the four-week, and nine-week periods were as follows:
