Following agreements to sell through Amazon and Dick’s Sporting Goods, Peloton Interactive, Inc. plans to sell its Peloton Bike+ exercise bike at a discount for a limited time at some of Costco’s U.S. stores and on the warehouse club’s website.
The two companies announced Tuesday, October 22, that the Peloton Bike+ will be available at 300 of the retailer’s U.S. stores for $1,999 and on Costco.com for $2,199, compared with the list price of $2,495. The discount will be available to Costco members between November 1 and February 15.
“The Costco brand is incredibly powerful and respected in the U.S. and abroad. Costco members know they are shopping for high-quality products from trusted brands with the best value,” stated Dion Camp Sanders, chief emerging business officer at Peloton.
Costco becomes Peloton’s third wholesale partner as it seeks to reinvigorate sales.
In August 2022, Peloton announced plans to sell its exercise equipment, accessories and apparel on Amazon’s U.S. website. Previously, Peloton’s products were only sold direct-to-consumer either through its e-commerce site or showrooms. In September 2022, Peloton reached an agreement to sell its hardware products and select accessories via branded fitness shops inside over 100 Dick’s Sporting Goods stores and on Dick’s website.
In August, Peloton reported its first sales increase in nine quarters.
