Costco November Comps Jump 14% on Strong International Business

Costco reported net sales of $3.79 billion for the four weeks ended November 30, 2003, an increase of 17 percent
from $3.23 billion in the same four-week period of the prior fiscal year.

For the first 13 weeks of its 2004 fiscal year ended November 30, 2003, the Company reported net sales of $11.28 billion, an increase of 15 percent from $9.83 billion during the similar 13-week period of the prior fiscal year.

Comparable sales for the 4-week and 13-week periods ended November 30, 2003, were as follows:
