Costco Wholesale Corporation reported sales of $5.9 billion for the month of August, an increase of 9% from $5.4 billion in the same four-week period last year.


Net sales for the fiscal 2010 fourth quarter were $23.6 billion, an increase of 8% from $21.9 billion a year earlier.


Net sales for the 52-week fiscal year 2010 were $76.3 billion, an increase of 9% from $69.9 billion in the prior year.


Comparable sales for the periods ended August 29, 2010, were as follows:
