Invista’s Cordura brand hired Ruud Vermeij as its European business development manager for the Cordura brand, responsible for the commercial strategy for growing its consumer business in Europe for all segments in the consumer market including workwear and active outdoor apparel, including extending the brand business in new applications.

Cordura said in a release that Vermeij brings a wealth of knowledge of merchandising and production, brand management and sales management to the role from various management positions in the fashion, sportswear and lifestyle industry.

Before this role, Vermeij worked on various consultancy projects, mainly related to advising companies in the apparel and sporting goods industry on a wide scope of topics related to doing business in Europe. Vermeij also previously held the role of general manager Europe at Brixton Europe BV, Amsterdam, a privately-owned manufacturer of headwear and apparel. From 2006 to 2016, he was the product director of the EMEA at Sole Technology Europe BV, Amsterdam. Prior, Vermeij launched Vans Benelux as country manager at VF Corp.
