Noble Biomaterials, a global manufacturer of antimicrobial and conductivity solutions for soft surface applications, partnered with Cone Denim on a new denim fabric to be exhibited at the 2023 Kingpins New York Show, (a denim supply chain show), on July 19-20.

Cone Denim used Noble’s Ionic+ technology, which takes positively charged silver ions and permanently embeds them into yarn fibers to inhibit bacteria and microbes on the fabric’s surface, reducing the need for frequent washing.

“Cone Denim is ahead of the curve offering a commercially ready denim using Ionic+ permanent mineral technology,” said Allon Cohne, chief marketing officer at Noble Biomaterials. “They came to us early on in anticipation of this trend and had a solution ready when market leaders like Mack Weldon called to include it for Fall 2023. Ionic+ is well suited for the increased demand for fabric solutions that offer ‘wear more with reduced impact’ benefits.”

The fabric will also be featured by Mack Weldon at retail this Fall.

“We are excited Mack Weldon has partnered to bring the Ionic+ technology to market, merging the sustainable fabric manufacturing by Cone with the added benefit of sustainable garment care for the consumer,” said Kevin Reardon, SVP of commercial strategy at Cone Denim.

Cone Denim’s fabric, combined with Ionic+ technology, lasts the garment’s lifetime, resulting in fewer washes, reduced water consumption and energy use. The denim is dyed using a Cone Denim Distilled Indigo (pre-reduced) shade, which offers additional water, energy and chemical savings.
