Colorado Yurt Company celebrated the official groundbreaking at its new company headquarters in Colorado Outdoors with employees and their families, local and state officials and dignitaries, Colorado Outdoors neighbors and company founders Dan and Emma Kigar.

The future home of the company will include 30,000 square feet of space, including a manufacturing floor, offices and visitor center. Outside on display will be model yurts, tipis and tents available to tour and rent by the night in a “try before you buy” experience.

The project is in partnership with Timberline Bank, Alcorn Construction, Colorado Outdoors, City of Montrose, and Montrose Urban Renewal Authority.

“This event was an opportunity to celebrate our employees and their continued success in building Colorado Yurt Company. I was excited to see the great response and attendance from the community. For those who attended, we were able to showcase a bit of who we are. We are looking forward to our grand opening in May 2022,” said John Gibson, owner, Colorado Yurt Company.

Colorado Yurt Company manufactures yurts, tipis and tents for a national and international customer base. Markets served include resorts, campgrounds, ski areas, glamping, summer camps, short-term rentals, and families.
