According to a report from CNBC, the resignation of Laurent Potdevin as CEO of Lululemon was partly due to an inappropriate relationship with a female designer at the company.

Sources said Potdevin had a multi-year relationship with the designer, who resigned in 2014 after the relationship had begun. She later did contract work for Lululemon, but did not renew her contract in January 2018.

However, the report indicated Potdevin’s relationship with the designer was one of “several instances in which he demonstrated a lack of leadership at Lululemon. Former employees say he had a negative impact on the company’s culture, for example, which they described as toxic.”
