ClassPass,a fitness membership program, announced a newly-updated membership with the official transition from a fixed class model to a dynamically priced credits based model in order to maximize membership benefits and optionality.

As part of these membership updates, the company is also announcing additional available premium class spots across existing studio partners and the elimination of studio visit limits.

“We wanted to create more membership optionality while reducing restrictions such as the studio limit,” said Fritz Lanman, CEO. “Credits have allowed our partners to choose how they want to charge for extra visits, while allowing them to list high-value class spots that they couldn’t justify listing before.”

The benefits of the updated credits membership include:

  • Flexibility: Dynamic pricing allows users to get the most out of their membership with the ability to go to more classes a month by booking lower credit classes.
  • More inventory: New premium class spots have been added to include high demand and peak class times, giving members more booking options and studios more revenue.
  • No more studio limits: Members can now attend any of their favorite studios as much as they’d like at a higher credit rate once they’ve exceeded their plan limit.

The company has also leveraged its learnings from beta testers to add a number of new features for a more seamless booking experience that includes being able to roll over up to 10 unused credits each month, filtering classes by credits and the ability to top up when running low on credits.

“In keeping with our mission to inspire people to live their most active lives, these new features will imbue ClassPass members with more flexibility and freedom than we’ve ever been able to offer before,” said Payal Kadakia, founder and chairman. “By enabling studio loyalty and providing more bookable class options, we hope members feel that their opportunities to work out with ClassPass are limitless.”
