Chris Clawson, former president; Life Fitness, has been re-elected as the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) Chairman of the Board for a third one- year term. Five new directors were elected and two members re-elected to the SFIA Board of Directors for three-year terms.
The announcement was made at the conclusion of the SFIA’s Annual Meeting on December 7.
“I’m honored to lead the SFIA as our industry continues to confront rapid change and an evolving marketplace,” said Clawson. “Our association is focused on providing tangible, relevant benefits to our member companies, while driving attention and commitment to promoting sports and fitness participation for all.”
“Chris Clawson’s leadership and vision is universally respected, and will be critical to SFIA success in promoting industry vitality,” said Tom Cove, SFIA President & CEO. “We are fortunate and very excited Chris will serve as SFIA Chairman in 2018.”
New additions to the Board include: Mike Dowse (President; Wilson Sporting Goods), Jared Drinkwater (Chief Marketing Officer, BSN Sports), John Graham (President; Speedo USA), Fouzan Mansuri (Director and Category Leader for Sports & Fitness; Amazon), and Matt Stanton (Vice President; Global Public Policy; Under Armour, Inc.)
In addition, the following board members have been re-elected: Kurt Tandan (Associate General Counsel & Senior Director of Corporate Affairs; adidas), and Mike Zlaket (President & Chief Executive Officer; Rawlings Sporting Goods).
Newly elected and re-elected directors will join existing SFIA board members: Jennifer Bendall (Sr. Director of Government Affairs; Nike), Michael Savage (CEO; Empower Fitness), Dan Arment (President & CEO; Riddell & BRG Sports), Melissa Dawson (President; Molten USA, Inc.), Rawleigh Grove (Vice President & General Counsel; PING Golf), Brian Jennings (Chief Marketing Officer; NHL), Sal LaRocca (President, Global Operations & Merchandising; NBA), Gene McCarthy (President & CEO; ASICS America Corporation), Scott McDonald (Chief Executive Officer; Body-Solid Inc.), Neil Morton (Chief Executive Officer; ATA International), Jeff Padovan (CEO; Bite Tech, Inc.), Jonathan Ram (Executive Vice President, North America; New Balance), Jim Weber (CEO; Brooks Running Company), and Marco Zambianchi (President; Technogym USA).
