<span style="color: #a6a2a2;">This time of year the weather can be unpredictable especially in Wyoming, home of apparel brand Stio, where daytime temps can be in the teens while nighttime lows in the single-digits. But no one lets that get in the way of enjoying the outdoors. Here are four options that Stephen Sullivan, Founder, Stio, is excited to offer from the FW19 collection to layer as the weather and your activities change.
Fernos Insulated Knicker
Primaloft Gold Active 40g, 100-percent Polyester, 40 g/m2 insulation
The Fernos, with Primaloft Gold insulation, offer a true skier’s silhouette but stop short of buckles to eliminate bunching when booting up under ski pants. With side stretch panels and articulated, athletic shape, the pants are a go-to choice for backcountry skiing, riding lifts all day or apres ski.
Microfibers trap body heat for thermal efficiency with water-repellency that insulates even in the wettest weather, maintaining 98-percent of warmth when wet. The thermal properties also feature breathability, packability and softness under ski pants. As a Bluesign approved textile, the pants have met the most stringent of sustainable production standards.
Raymer Collection
Entrant 3L waterproof/breathable, 100-percent nylon, Entrant microporous membrane, 20,000mm waterproofness, 13,000 g/m2/24hrs breathability, 50 deniers, 140 g/m2, 80/20 DWR
Stio wanted a more breathable and functional jacket and pants for the backcountry environments that were also packable, lightweight, waterproof and fully seam-sealed. The Raymer collection offers it all. Working with Toray to get the right textile, Stio selected Entrant, a three-layer material that facilitates vapor transport and still stretches liberally. The jacket features a helmet-compatible hood and two deep-bellowed front pockets. Inner thigh vents cool legs in the pants with jam pockets for small items and internal gaiters to seal out the cold.
Saratoga Cord Shirt
stretch Corduroy, 98-percent Cotton, 2-percent Elastane
Pertex Quantum Minirip Nylon lining, 100-percent Nylon, 52 g/m2 with DWR
The Saratoga Cord Shirt, a lifestyle-centric piece, is a take on a classic cord shirt with technical details including Pertex Quantum down-proof minirip lining with good tear strength and matte finish, tightly woven, well-balanced construction preventing excessive heat loss offers significant weight reduction and excellent strength. Wear as a shirt or layered to wear as a jacket.
Rawlins Fleece Collection
Shearling Fleece, 100-percent Polyester, 330 g/m2
In half or full-zip for men and women, the Rawlins Fleece collection is a take on the old shearling style fleeces. At home or on the road, the fabric blends tech function and a natural aesthetic, feeling more like a ski sweater than a performance fleece.
