Chaco has partnered with Leave No Trace as an official product sponsor of the organization’s Traveling Trainer program, an initiative designed to educate outdoor enthusiasts across a range of audiences how to minimize their impact in natural areas. Through hands-on training workshops delivered by a team of creative and dynamic traveling educators, the “Education in Motion” program has reached more than eight million individuals since its inception, including youth serving organizations, college students, land management employees and outdoor organizations.

Through the sponsorship agreement, the Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainer Program will use and promote Chaco products at festivals, events, conferences, competitions, and media spots executed around the country this year. Chaco footwear will be worn by the 2007 Traveling Trainer Team at all program events and the Chaco brand will receive prominent placement in educational demonstrations, on the Traveling Trainer vehicles, and in all program promotional materials.

Chaco Minister of Sustainability and Human Resources, Dave Knutson explains, “The Leave No Trace program is a perfect fit to our sustainability efforts. Chaco got its starts by creating a product that outlasted the competition-one that could be repaired rather than pitched into a landfill, in essence to create a business that strives to leave no trace.”

Susy Alkaitis, Deputy Director of Leave No Trace, expressed her excitement, “This is a great partnership. Chaco is a very strong example of a company that practices what they preach – impeccable, conscious environmental standards in the products they make and the way they run their operation.”
