Dick’s Sporting Goods will expand its national footprint with the opening of its first Dick’s House of Sport, a new concept store in Victor, NY, on April 9, and two Warehouse Sale locations and experiential Soccer Shops in select locations in April. The retailer will also debut nine newly redesigned Golf Galaxy locations and expanded technology offerings in 62 Golf Galaxy locations.

CampgroundViews.com Reports Advanced Bookings Up Over 50 Percent

In a survey of 2,000 campgrounds and RV parks performed by CampgroundViews.com, nearly two-thirds of respondents stated that their advanced bookings are up 50 percent over average for the 2021 camping season. Twenty-four percent see advanced bookings up over 80 percent for the same period.

NSGA Sports Participation Study Offers Glimpse Of COVID-19 Impact

Early figures from the 2021 edition of the National Sporting Goods Association’s (NSGA) Sports Participation in the U.S. report provide an indication of the impact COVID-19 had on the 10 segments tracked by NSGA in 2020.  NSGA annual participation study saw five segments increase in participation, three segments decrease and two segments remain relatively flat compared to 2019.

OIA Special Report Examines New Outdoor Participant Amid Pandemic

Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) released a special report, “New Outdoor Participant  (COVID And Beyond),” exploring Americans’ spike in engagement in outdoor activities amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The report reveals that these new participants are more likely to be female, younger, living in an urban area and slightly more ethnically diverse than existing participants.
