Carbon38, a luxury activewear and athleisure retailer, hired Lisa Kraynak as chief marketing officer.
Kraynak will be based in Los Angeles and serve on the executive management team, working closely with Founders Katie Warner Johnson and Caroline Gogolak to create and execute the strategy to drive growth and build the Carbon38 brand worldwide. The marketing, creative, retail and corporate communications departments will report directly to Kraynak.
Kraynak has 20 years of experience across both large blue-chip corporations and early-stage companies. She has held previous roles at NBC Universal, Viacom, iVillage, Intuit, The City of New York and Demand Media, where she launched the company’s fashion and beauty vertical. Notably, she has held leadership roles through two $1.5 billion IPOs to date.
“Carbon38 is at an inflection point and adding a team member at Lisa’s level gives us a rare competitive advantage,” said Johnson, co-founder and CEO, Carbon38. “Lisa’s experience, imagination, energy and, most importantly, competitive spirit manifests as the ideal engine for scale. She has a proven track record for delivering results through digital and brand marketing and her operational expertise punts us into world-class territory.”
Kraynak will be instrumental in upcoming initiatives for the brand, such as a pop-up retail shop on Robertson Blvd. in Los Angeles, opening in November 2016, and high-profile designer collaborations with artist Curtis Kulig and CFDA award-winning designer Jonathan Simkhai, each launching this winter.
