Canada Goose, the outerwear company, appointed Denver-based Ian Widmer as its new U.S. sales manager. Most recently, Widmer served as national key accounts manager and international sales manager at Gramicci.
Widmer previously worked in retail for Specialty Sports Venture LLC, Vail, one of the largest outdoor specialty sports retailers in the U.S. with more than 140 retail stores.
“Ian’s experience in retail and on the manufacturer side will be an asset to raising Canada Goose’s presence in the United States outdoor market,” said Paul Silvertown, vice president of sales for Canada Goose. “He understands the opportunities and challenges with the apparel category. We look forward to having Ian as part of the Canada Goose family.”
Widmer has already expanded the Canada Goose sales team with additional representatives in the western United States. Y.P.S, Inc., based out of Seattle, Washington, will be responsible for Pacific Northwest territories, including Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington, while the team at Sports Gear West, based in Newport Beach, California, will cover Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Texas.
