Employees of CamelBak spotted a relatively small number of the company’s M.U.L.E. hydration packs for sale on Costco’s web site. Camelbak is in the process of investigating how this unauthorized sale came about, since Costco is not a Camelbak dealer. The hydration packs are selling for $57.99, while full retail price listed at authorized Camelbak dealers is $79.99.

In a prepared statement, Layne Rigney, CamelBak's Director of Sales for Domestic Recreation said, “We keep a close eye on unauthorized distribution, but it can be tough to stop. The good news is that it looks like Costco has limited quantities of our product and what they have is only available online. We are determining how the product was diverted to Costco and we will stop it.”
