Camber Outdoors, the active-outdoor industries organization focused on equality for all women in the outdoors, and the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association (BPSA), unveiled the winners of the 2017 Bicycle Leadership Conference (BLC) scholarships.
The winners are:
- Tabi Adkins, Business Operations Manager, Accell North America
- Elizabeth Sparrow, Sales Account Manager, SRAM, LLC
- Brook Stehley, Sales & Marketing Manager, Rolf Prima Wheel Systems
- Josiah Lent, Territory Manager, Trek Bicycle Corp
Now in its third year, the scholarship program brings new and emerging leaders to the BLC, with a focus on individuals working at bike suppliers and manufacturers as well as industry sales representatives (a new category this year).
“We’ve been really pleased with how well the scholarship winners have integrated the BLC content and networking connections and taken it home to their companies,” noted BPSA Executive Director Ray Keener. “These are our future industry leaders, so it’s never too soon to get them started on that path.”
The BLC, owned by the BPSA, is an annual, three-day conference for industry leaders and key stakeholders that includes networking, education, and collaboration on issues and opportunities facing the bike industry. The scholarships will cover conference registration and hotel accommodations for awardees.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the BPSA to bring new bike-industry talent to the BLC,” said Deanne Buck, executive director of Camber Outdoors. “It’s a great opportunity for these individuals to gain industry knowledge, develop as leaders, and share their voices and perspectives at the event.”
BPSA is the U.S. trade association for suppliers of bicycles, parts, accessories and services. The association leads industry initiatives in legal and governmental affairs, statistics, and safety issues, and provides regular networking and educational forums for members.
