Cabela’s Plans Stores for its third store in Texas and its first in Oregon.
The store in Springfield, OR is set to open in Spring 2011. It will open at Gateway Mall have in the former Ashley’s Furniture location on the west side of the mall.
“Oregonians have a rich tradition of enjoying the outdoors,” said Cabela’s Chief Executive Officer Tommy Millner. “Fishing, hunting and wildlife viewing activities are a way of life for folks who live along the I-5 Corridor and throughout the state. Were thrilled Springfield will be the location of Cabela’s first store in Oregon.”
Cabela’s also expects to open a store in Allen, TX in early spring of 2011. The 100,000-square-foot store will be located at U.S. Highway 75 and Village Drive, and will be Cabela’s third retail store in Texas, joining the Fort Worth and Buda locations. Construction is expected to start in late August 2010.
“Texas is a prime location for a variety of outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and boating, and our loyal customers in this part of the state are passionate about these pursuits,” said Millner. “The area’s residents, as well as visitors to the region, are people who enthusiastically enjoy their outdoor heritage, and were excited to be even more accessible to them.”
