John Connelly, brand manager for Zamberlan outdoor footwear in the U.S., announced that Michael Burns, a seasoned player in the outdoor business, has joined the company. Burns' role will be to service the brand's growing number of specialty retailers on the east coast and further expand Zamberlan's dealer base. Additionally, Burns will collaborate with Connelly in developing marketing programs to grow awareness & demand for the brand and to maximize sell through for their high end products.
“Mike is a powerhouse industry veteran with tremendous experience in sales, marketing and brand building”, said Connelly. Burns was one of the original North Face reps (back in the day), and has been sales manager for Patagonia, director of sales & marketing for the North Face, and VP of sales & marketing for both Sweetwater and Mountainsmith. He's also been a professional training consultant for Learning International, facilitating courses for Fortune 500 companies. “I'm psyched Mike has joined the Zamberlan team. He brings substantial skills and tremendous enthusiasm”, said Connelly. “Having Mike on board will allow us to improve our service and increase our brand awareness, and will additionally allow me to spend more time on product development and attending to the needs of our key western accounts”. Initially, Burns will cover the eastern seaboard from his base in Charlottesville, VA. Mike will represent Zamberlan at the upcoming Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City and the EORA SE show in Greenville, SC.
