Brunswick Corporation named John C. Pfeifer as president of the Brunswick Asia Pacific Group. He will succeed Theo N. Wiggill who recently retired. Pfeifer will report to both Peter B. Hamilton, president – Brunswick Boat Group, and Patrick C. Mackey, president – Mercury Marine Group.

In his new capacity, Pfeifer will be responsible for all marine operations in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific Islands region.

“John brings a wealth of operating management and international business experience, which will greatly contribute to further expanding our presence in the Asia Pacific region,” said Hamilton.

“John has been doing business in Asia for more than 15 years,” said Patrick C. Mackey, president – Mercury Marine Group. “His thorough knowledge and understanding of the local cultures and ways of doing business will serve him well as he takes on the leadership role at BAPG.”

Pfeifer most recently served as vice president and director of worldwide operations for ITT's Commercial Electronics' business in Hong Kong. In that position, he was responsible for the business operations for eight sites in countries including China, Singapore and Japan. John's career with ITT also included positions as vice president and general manager for its Connectors CMD business in Hong Kong, and executive vice president and general manager of ITT-HiSan, a joint venture serving the Japanese automotive industry.

Prior to joining ITT in 2000, Pfeifer worked at Milicron, Inc., serving as general manager at a number of their international subsidiaries in Canada, Mexico and Japan. Pfeifer has also done business consulting in Japan and overseas procurement for Isuzu Motors, Ltd, Tokyo.

Pfeifer holds a bachelor's degree with a dual major in international economics and finance, and in Japanese language and culture, from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
