Clif, Stanley, Optic Nerve, and DeLorme, Highgear and Yaktrax have agreed to match all donations up to $2,000 to raise money for Polar Adventurer Eric Larsen's Summit for Someone climb, which aims to raise money for Big City Mountaineers (BCM).

Eric and his expedition partner Ryan Waters are in the Seattle area to climb seven peaks, including Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helen and Mt. Hood, in an effort to raise $7,000 (7 for 7k) for BCM. Eric’s effort to climb seven peaks is not necessarily about breaking any records or putting up new climbing routes. “It is about spending time outside engaged in a fun self funded challenge and doing seven simple things to help out a good cause and make the world a better place.”

Summit for Someone (SFS), BCM’s largest fundraising initiative, allows individuals the opportunity to enjoy either a professionally guided climb on one of 14 epic peaks or the ability to create a custom adventure, all to provide inner-city youth with life-changing wilderness experiences alongside caring adult mentors.

“Our hope is that the seven peak climb will not only raise funds and awareness for Big City Mountaineers, but for the greater cause of connecting people to the outdoors,” says Eric. “Climbing, hiking and just being active in the outdoors can help create transformational opportunities for kids that desperately need them.”
